Ace Combat Infinity was a free-to-play combat flight simulator video game developed by Project. Research upgrades to their current aircraft through a special development tree, which will include options for new aircraft, aircraft parts, and weapons. Overall, I find the Gripen-E to be the best plane in the game because it's easily the most versatile. The Gripen is my most-often used plane and although it was relatively cheap, it can achieve S rankings at Ace level easily. The LACM is the most devastating A2G weapon in the game and the SASM is the hardest missile in the game to avoid. It's plenty fast, carries lots of countermeasures and is awesome in a dogfight. In a mission like 'Battle for Farbanti' where you need to take out powerful land and sea targets fast but still have a great missile available to take out Sol Squadron, I can't think of a better plane to use than the Gripen.
The LACM absolutely ass-rapes the Erusian Navy and ground forces while the SASM guarantees hits on aerial enemies including Archange and the rest of Sol Squadron. In a mission like 'Long Day', I start out with the 6AAM. I can have all F-16s, Tu-160s and ground targets in the first area eradicated in no more than two passes.
I get the trucks, AA guns and watchtower as I progress north to the canyon-based targets. I use the 6AAM to wipe out the airborne choppers and Harriers (before they launch), picking here and there at ground targets with normal missiles. Once the Harriers are hit, I go straight back to base, get the LACM, dive-bomb the shit out of the ground targets in the canyon with it, wipe out the AA Gun/AH-64/Watch Tower combo and then the four APCs in a line. Both of these groups are one shot each. I arrive at the south end of the Gripen tunnel and wipe out those targets. Then I go after the clustered targets on the north side of the Gripen Tunnel (If I feel like fighting Kitten, I fly through it) and once I'm down to only 2 LACMs, I fly back to base, taking out another AH-64 base and the AA Guns/Trucks combo with the last 2 LACMs. Then I get back to base, grab the SASM and use them on the drones.
A very easy S rank right there, even at Ace level. No other plane has the special weapon versatility of the Gripen-E, no matter how much they cost. The ease with which the Gripen achieves S ranks in missions like Long Day and Fleet Destruction cannot be matched with any other plane that I've tried although the Su-30SM does come close but falls flat in the A2G category because, let's face it, nothing matches the LACMs range and power. There are better planes for strictly A2G missions like the Rafale and better planes for strictly A2A missions like the F-22 but no other plane combines elite-level A2A and elite-level A2G like the Gripen-E.And to think, this plane is so damn CHEAP to buy! I guess Ace Combat is mirroring real-life here.
In Ace Combat 7 there are a lot of real-world aircraft from the air force of many countries to choose from. They differ in purpose, speed, maneuverability and durability statistics, as well as the weapons they carry. On this page you will learn more about the basic differences and which aircraft in the Ace Combat 7 are considered to be the best.
Consider that in order to buy some planes you will still need to buy others, even if you don't want to use them. The aircraft tree has a complex chain of connections.
Basic information
Aircraft in Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown are divided into three basic groups:
- Fighter Aircraft - blue color
- Multirole Aircraft - pink color
- Attacker Aircraft - red color
The most important difference is that special weaponry for fighter planes mainly concerns the destruction of air targets (although there are exceptions), while multirole aircrafts always have the option of choosing additional weaponry against ground targets or airborne targets. Similarly, assault (attackers) machines can only fight with standard missiles. Their special weapon destroys only objects on the ground.
Fighters are very fast and maneuverable, and attackers are slow and well armored. Multirole planes are usually the golden mean between the two.
In addition, each aero plane differs in statistics in six categories:
- Speed
- Mobility
- Stability
- Air-to-air
- Air-to-ground
- Defense
Aircraft can also be equipped with additional parts to improve their performance or armament efficiency. The parts are divided into:

- Body
- Arms
- Misc
Airplanes have a limited number of slots and limited mounting options, so you always need to think carefully about which element you want to strengthen before your mission. Fuselage parts will improve the maneuverability and speed of the machine, the arsenal affects the range and effectiveness of the weapon, and others include increasing the stealth attribute, which reduces the targeting of the aircraft by enemy radars. Avoid using machines with single bombs and laser beams, because attacking with them requires either a lot of time or great precision in control.
The best fighter planes
Generally, the more expensive a plane is in the aircraft tree, the better its statistics will be. However, it is worth to make the first purchases reasonable, paying attention to the special weapon of each machine. Our first fighter will certainly be the F-16C, and then it is worth investing in Mig-29 or even better in Eurofighter Typhon, which has weapons destroying as many as 8 ground targets at the same time. In air combat we will usually achieve better results with a weapon aiming at several targets than at a long distance. This applies especially to the fight against a cloud of drones?
The best multirole aircrafts
One of the best multirole planes is certainly the American F-35C. It has a special weapon that destroys 4 enemy planes or 8 ground targets at the same time. All this is combined with great performance. However, to unlock it you will have to buy quite a lot of parts and planes, so before that a good choice is also Swedish Gripen E, with long-range Cruise missiles or the ability to attack 4 enemy planes at once.
The best attacker planes
There are very few attacker planes in the game. You will find here a representative of the west, that is the legendary A-10 and the eastern Su-34, which, due to the weapons being carried, will probably be a bit better choice. Use assault planes for missions requiring the destruction of large clusters of ground targets, but remember that a possible fight against drones will be a bit more difficult due to poor maneuverability and speed of attackers.
