The Shores of Gold is the first of the Tall Tales coming to Sea of Thieves. This nine mission quest takes players all over the Sea of Thieves in search of the fabled Shroudbreaker.
Along the way, you can collect journals and repeat the missions to earn extra cosmetic gear and commendations. There are a lot of puzzles in this story, so let us help guide you on your way to the Shores of Gold.Use the following links to jump to the section you need:.Shores of Gold Tall Tale guide The first Tall Tale is Shores of Gold, and it's started by finding the journal beside any of the Mysterious Strangers who hang out in taverns.The Shores of Gold Tall Tale comprises 9 separate voyages. The first voyage is the Shroudbreaker voyage, which kicks off the entire adventure. Each voyage can take anywhere between two and three hours, depending on your crew, how aggressive other players are, and how quickly you try to complete each step.Because this is the first voyage of its kind in Sea of Thieves, it’s definitely worth taking your time to soak up the atmosphere!Once you reach the endpoint of each mission, the primary character you dealt with at the start of the mission will typically inform you where to find the next voyage. For example, after completing the Shroudbreaker, the Mysterious Stranger will reveal that Madame Olivia at Plunder Outpost might know something.
However, there are some instances where you are given little information from the quest-giver. To work out where to go next, follow this guide or open up the Tall Tale, highlight the voyage you want, and press the 'more information' button.The first time you play the Shores of Gold Tall Tale you will have to complete it in sequence. Once you play through the entire Tall Tale, you can launch any voyage at any time. When you first begin, you may find journals out in the wild that you cannot interact with, this is because you have yet to complete the previous voyages.How to start the Shores of Gold Tall TaleTo start the Shores of Gold Tall Tale in Sea of Thieves, head to the nearest Outpost. Locate the tavern and go inside. At the back of the tavern, leaning against a door, is character wearing all-black clothing – this is the Mysterious Stranger.
Beside the Mysterious Stranger on a barrel is a book titled, The Shroudbreaker, this is the start of the Shores of Gold.Approach the journal and vote for it. A majority vote is needed to begin the quest, so have your crew members cast their vote as well. Once the required votes are in, the Shroudbreaker quest will start. From this point onward, you will be completing the Shores of Gold Tall Tale!The Shroudbreaker GuideA Mysterious Stranger speaks of an ancient relic with the power to reach a lost islandAs mentioned above, the Shroudbreaker is the first mission available to players as part of the Shores of Gold Tall Tale. This voyage tasks you with tracking down the Shroudbreaker and bringing it back to the Mysterious Stranger.
From the first save point in the Hotlands, head east to find a large building marked 'LAB' and go inside.Everything will be too dark to inspect but you'll notice a screen playing yourself. Keep going east and Dr Alphys will emerge from a room and turn the lights on. She is surprised to see you and will make awkward conversation before offering to guide you to the castle.Mettaton Part 1 As she's explaining her robot that might cause problems, it of course busts into the room and will start a sort of quiz show battle - on your off turns what you do doesn't matter.Dr Alphys will signal the answers to you with her hands, so keep an eye on her sprite. Or alternatively, the answers are: D, C, B, D, A, D, anything, C, and A.Once the battle is over Mettaton will leave and Dr Alphys will upgrade your phone as well as sign you up to a social media whether you like it or not.
Continue East and exit the lab.You'll be lucky enough to be constantly interrupted by status updates as you go.At this point, you may start to encounter new creatures:. Hit three of the barriers to spare - but be careful as hitting the white parts will do you damage.HP: 80Atk: 25Def: 26The path is fairly linear for a while, so continue on it past the conveyor belts north and you'll come to a save point. You can't go north here so turn east and step on the arrow to be launched across the gap.Use these squares to make your way east and then walk south to find a quickly switching square and conveyor belts. Pyrope.JPGPyropeHeat up Pyrope twice to spare it - be careful, this raises it's attack.You can choose to cool down to lower the attack.HP: 110Atk: 29Def: 14As you make your way west continue to enjoy the social media updates. You'll see the road fork to the south, follow the path to pick up the 'Stained Apron' - it's an item with a defence of 11 and it heals 1 HP every other turn.
After equipping it, head back north and west again.Dr Alphys will call you just before you can get on the conveyor belt to explain the puzzle.
